Legal aid
Legal counseling is for free and primarily provided in the following areas:
- General information on international protection
- Extension of supplementary protection
- Employment-related issues
- Lease agreements
- Obtaining residency or visas for additional family members
- Exchange of a foreign driver’s license for a Slovak one
- Family matters – alimony, child custody arrangements, divorce
- Recognition of diplomas issued abroad
- Enforcement proceedings
- Granting of long-term residency
- Granting of citizenship.
Legal counseling appointments must be scheduled in advance. Each session lasts a maximum of one hour.
Due to the limited availability of our resources, services are provided in accordance with the highest priority needs, as determined by the social team. Thank you for your understanding.
To enhance legal awareness, two special legal seminars are held annually, covering a minimum range of topics:
– Rights of women and children
– Prevention of domestic violence
– Civil rights
– Fair and equal treatment
– Rights of refugees and human rights – a special seminar created for local authorities.
Clients are also informed about and can access free legal assistance through the Legal Aid Center.
