Slovak language course
The Slovak language course is one of the essential components of the integration project. The course is conducted both in-person and online, with clients divided into groups. The instructor can also assist those who cannot read and write, as well as those who already have a good command of Slovak and wish to apply for citizenship.
The Slovak language course will take place in Bratislava and Košice in-person and also online for clients living outside these cities. The Slovak language course is an intensive course consisting of 2 hours, three times a week, mainly during the first half of the year. Depending on the client’s country of origin and mother tongue, the groups will be divided into:
- Slavic
- Non-Slavic
- Illiterate
The lexical minimum of the basic Slovak course includes:
Social interaction (introducing oneself, making phone calls, social conversation, private correspondence);
- Official interaction (police, authorities, official correspondence);
- Tasks arising from practical life needs (shopping, restaurants, services, cultural life);
- Health issues and visiting a doctor;
- Housing;
- Orientation in the city;
- Travelling by public transport.
One Slovak language lesson lasts 1 hour, and each group has 2 lessons per week.
